John Richardson, Picasso’s biographer, curated pieces of Picasso’s life including 225 photographs, 7 home movies made by Picasso (and had never been seen before in the US). Picasso used photography as a “study of light on different surfaces”. The films are on constant run in a central space. It is so fascinating to see him work and see the different facets of his life. Together with his grandson, Bernard Ruiz Picasso, the gallery show was curated to comprise the artists’ paintings, sculptures and drawings. Along with the photos taken by Picasso are photos by many of his artist friends including Man Ray and Jean Cocteau.
