A client/dear friend of ours runs a fantastic cooking adventure to Italy. His next group trip from May 31-June 7 will share the love of food and culture with a small group to Umbria. It is a wonderful way to experience the most beautiful hill towns, delicious cuisine, warm and friendly inhabitants and certainly exquisite art! Umbrian cuisine gives new meaning to the term “lovavore” since the concept of eating anything grown more than 10 miles away is practically unknown. Pick figs right off the tree, drink wine from the vineyard next door, forage for mushrooms and asparagus. The home base for the trip is Borgovivo, a beautiful restored farmhouse located in Torre del Colle, (http://www.borgovivo.it) in the heart of wine country, close to Assisi, Perugia, Deruta and Todi.
Sightseeing, shopping, all meals and cooking classes followed by dinner (prepared by you ) included. The cooking instructor Silvia Maccari, is fluent in English, and is a knowledgeable, sophisticated guide and to Italian cuisine, culture and history.
The trip price is $3200 per person, shared room (airfare not included). Go to http://www.cookeuro.com for trip details and sample itnerary and menus.
